President's Message
Dear sisters and friends,
NOIVMWC is an umbrella national organization with a vision of creating equality for all women. It was created in 1986 with a focus on forming a united national voice to ensure equality for immigrant and visible minority women within bilingual Canada. NOIVMWC advocates for various issues affecting immigrant and visible minority women. We have made significant progress on many fronts and our activities are becoming more important, considering the increasing diversity of the Canadian population.
Built on its past success, and with the financial support from the Status Women of Canada, NOIVMWC has completed the Livelihood Project’s Phase 1 & 2, and now is in Phase 3: Engaging Immigrant and Visible Minority Women in Leadership Roles. I strongly encourage you to go through our website and get more information about this project and be part of it, may be as a trainee, a facilitator, a mentor or even just an observer!
I look forward to having you join us! We need your support and comments!
If you would like to know how to become a member, or how to contribute and make donations, please contact our office and we will be delighted to hear from you!
Warm regards,
Eva Pakyam, President
